Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Jousto (operated by Honen Investments Pty Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, SDKs and server-side event tracking) across our websites and apps.

Google Tag Manager Meta Pixel + Meta CAPI Analytics Security

Effective Date: [Insert Date] • This policy should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and server-to-server events to understand how our services are used and to improve performance and marketing relevance.

Plain English: some tools help the site work properly, some help us measure performance, and some help us understand which marketing is effective.

2. What we use and why

Category Purpose Examples Can you opt out?
Strictly necessary Keep the site secure and functional (sessions, security, load balancing). Login/session cookies, fraud prevention, form protection. No (required to operate)
Preferences Remember settings and improve your experience. Saved form progress (where enabled), region or UI settings. Yes
Analytics Measure usage so we can improve content, UX and performance. Traffic sources, page performance, conversion events via GTM. Yes
Marketing Show relevant ads, measure ad performance, and reduce spammy targeting. Meta Pixel; Meta Conversions API (CAPI); remarketing. Yes

Google Tag Manager (GTM)

We use GTM to manage website tags in a controlled way and deploy tracking only as configured.

Meta Pixel + Meta Conversions API (CAPI)

We may send conversion events to Meta via browser pixel and/or server-side (CAPI) to measure performance and improve ad relevance. Where possible, we minimise data and use hashing for certain identifiers.

Example events: page views, form submissions, quote starts/completions, booking actions, purchases.

No hype: cookies don’t give us magical access to your device. They help our site run, and help us measure what’s working.

3. What data may be collected

Depending on your consent settings and the tools in use, we may collect:

  • Device and browser information (e.g. type, language, operating system)
  • Approximate location (e.g. city/region inferred from IP)
  • Site interactions (pages viewed, clicks, form interactions, conversions)
  • Referral and campaign parameters (e.g. utm_*, gclid, fbclid)
  • Identifiers used by advertising/analytics providers (subject to your consent)
We aim to minimise collection and use data primarily to operate, secure, measure and improve Jousto.

4. Third-party services

Some cookies and tracking technologies are set by third parties (e.g. Meta, Google) to provide analytics and advertising services. Those providers may process data in accordance with their own policies.

How third parties may use data

Third parties may combine events from our site with information they already have, to measure ad performance and improve relevance. You can control this via our cookie settings (where implemented), your browser controls, and your account settings with those providers.

5. How to manage cookies

You can manage cookies in the following ways:

  • Cookie banner/settings: [Insert link or embed to your cookie preference centre]
  • Browser controls: block or delete cookies via your browser settings
  • Device controls: limit ad tracking in your device privacy settings (where available)
Blocking all cookies may affect core site functions (forms, login, session security).

6. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our tools and services evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice.
