Three levels

A clear ladder (no overlap)

Each level adds capability without changing what Level 1 is for: reliability, safety, and visibility. Level 2 adds set-and-forget circuit control. Level 3 adds automated optimisation via an EMS gateway.

Ongoing care plan (after the included first 12 months): a small annual fee covers battery replacements for sensors, a solar panel clean, and a general maintenance check — so your system stays safe, accurate, and performing like it should.

Level 1

Monitor — responsible ownership (done properly)

This is your foundation: measure solar generation and grid consumption, monitor battery safety signals, and send alerts if anything drifts out of safe or expected ranges.

  • Pro 3EM monitoring of solar + grid (visibility you can act on)
  • Smoke detection above the battery
  • Humidity + temperature sensing on the battery for early warning

The goal is simple: don’t let problems hide for weeks or months.

Level 2

Control — set-and-forget circuit control

Add control of up to four 16A circuits using two Shelly Pro 2PM units. We configure it once — and it just runs in the background.

  • 2 × Pro 2PM = control up to 4 circuits (16A each)
  • Common circuits: hot water, pool pump, spa pump/heater (if within limits), HVAC
  • Rules can be time-based, solar-excess-based, and behaviour-based
  • Customer can optionally use the Shelly app for manual tweaks

Jousto EMS isn’t a front-facing app — it’s the logic layer that keeps things behaving.

Level 3

Optimise — automated intelligence via EMS gateway

Level 3 adds an Ampora EMS gateway, enabling automated optimisation across loads, solar, batteries and market behaviour — using algorithms rather than manual rules.

  • Ampora gateway (EMS layer) added to the system
  • Automated control of the same controlled circuits from Level 2
  • Coordinates load behaviour with solar + battery operation
  • Designed for “hands-off” optimisation (the system adjusts without you babysitting it)

If Level 2 is “we control it”, Level 3 is “the system controls itself”.

Start with Monitor. Upgrade when it makes sense.

Most customers begin at Level 1. If you’ve got controllable loads (hot water, pool, HVAC), Level 2 is a natural next step. If you want deeper automated optimisation, Level 3 is the premium layer.
