Jousto Pole 360°

Confirmed catalogue specifications

The Jousto Pole 360° is a self-contained solar-powered edge infrastructure platform designed to provide power, communications, local compute and intelligent monitoring in locations where mains power or fixed internet may be unavailable, unreliable or expensive to install. The system combines a 475W solar panel, 12V 100Ah battery storage, Victron solar charging and battery protection, 4G connectivity, Home Assistant local automation and two Reolink 16MP dual-camera PoE monitoring units in one integrated pole-mounted platform. The Jousto Pole 360° is designed for locations where broader site awareness is required, including construction sites, farms, equipment compounds, remote infrastructure, council assets, illegal dumping hotspots, car parks, environmental monitoring sites and other locations where activity may approach from multiple directions. The system is approximately 4 metres high overall. The weather-resistant equipment enclosure is mounted to the pole at approximately 3 metres above the base. The two dual-camera units are mounted underneath the enclosure, with one positioned to monitor one side of the site and the second positioned to monitor the opposite side. Together, the two dual-camera assemblies provide broad 360-degree site coverage. The solar panel is mounted above the enclosure. The standard system uses one Trina 475W solar panel and one 12V 100Ah battery. Solar charging is managed by a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 charge controller. A Victron BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A provides battery protection and enables controlled load management when required. Power is distributed through a six-circuit ST Blade fuse block. A regulated 12V to 9V DC step-down converter supplies compatible low-voltage equipment, while two TP-DCDC-1248G DC-to-PoE injectors provide power and Ethernet connectivity to the camera units without requiring a mains-powered inverter. Communications are provided through a TP-Link TL-MR6400 4G LTE router. This allows the Jousto Pole to operate independently of fixed broadband infrastructure and provides remote connectivity for monitoring, automation and system management. Local compute and automation are provided by a Home Assistant Green controller. Home Assistant allows the Jousto Pole to continue operating locally even when internet connectivity is interrupted. It can manage automations, sensor events, camera triggers, power controls, alerts and future connected devices. The standard Jousto Pole 360° includes two Reolink 16MP dual-camera PoE Elite Pro units. Each camera assembly contains two camera lenses, giving the system a total of four camera lenses. The two camera units are positioned in opposing directions beneath the enclosure to provide broad site coverage around the pole. Integrated floodlighting and AI-based event detection allow the cameras to identify activity and trigger local or remote responses. The platform is designed to be expandable. Additional devices can be integrated depending on the application, including environmental sensors, water-level sensors, weather stations, PIR sensors, radar sensors, sirens, strobes, additional lighting, gate sensors, relays, industrial Modbus sensors, LoRa devices and optional edge AI compute. The Jousto Pole can also be configured to respond automatically to site conditions. For example, activity detected on one side of the site can trigger lighting, recording or alerts for that zone. A second event on the opposite side can trigger a separate automation. Multiple sensor inputs can be combined to increase confidence before triggering alarms or other responses. A low battery state can automatically disable non-essential equipment while preserving communications, compute and critical monitoring.
